Demountable partitions are prefabricated wall systems — solid, glazed or mixed panels on a proprietary frame — designed to be taken down and reinstalled elsewhere rather than demolished. They trade a higher initial cost for the ability to reconfigure an office with little waste.

Why it matters
Every drywall change is a demolition. For companies that reorganise often, demountable systems turn that into a relocation, reducing downtime, waste and the cost of the next change.

Common mistakes
- Choosing it for a layout that never changes. The premium is not recovered.
- Poor sealing at the head. Sound travels through the plenum.
- Crossing fire compartment lines with a system not rated for it.
