# Aluminium Doors & Windows — System and Custom Fenestration

> Aluminium doors and windows are best specified as engineered systems, in which profile, hardware, gasket, drainage and glass are designed and tested as one assembly with published performance, rather than fabricated from separately sourced parts. In air-conditioned buildings, thermally broken profiles stop the frame conducting heat inward and attracting condensation.

## What we deliver

**System and custom fenestration** — openable, sliding, casement and
tilt-and-turn aluminium doors and windows, plus uPVC where the application
suits it, for commercial, high-rise and premium residential projects.

We work on engineered systems rather than assembled parts. A window is a
performance product: profile, hardware, gasket, drainage and glass have to be
designed as one assembly, or nobody can honestly state what it will do.

## Delivered work

| Project | Location | Scope | Quantity |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| M3M | Sector 79, Gurugram | Door & window — aluminium and glass work | 28,000 sq. ft. |

## Facade leadership experience

Our Director – Facade, Akhilesh Kumar Singh (25+ years in facade engineering),
has led delivery on projects including:

| Project | Location | Scope | Quantity |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Krisumi Waterfall Residences | Sector 36A, Gurgaon | Imported aluminium doors & windows + SS railing | 13,871 sq. m. + 7,107 r. m. |
| Adani Samsara Vilasa | Sector 60, Gurgaon | Imported aluminium doors & windows | 6,398 sq. m. |
| Broadway Service Apartment | Dwarka Expressway, Sector 83, Gurugram | Curtain wall glazing & aluminium doors and windows | 10,550 sq. m. |

## System partner

As a **strategic partner**, **Winda Window Systems** supplies engineered
aluminium and uPVC window and door systems manufactured in Ludhiana, Punjab.
Systems are built as one engineered assembly — profile, hardware, gasket,
drainage and glass — using **6063 T6 alloy, EPDM gaskets and EN-certified
hardware**.

## Scope of works

| Stage | What we deliver |
| --- | --- |
| System selection | Openable type, performance class, thermal and acoustic requirement |
| Design | Opening schedule, shop drawings, glass specification |
| Fabrication | In-house cutting to ±0.1mm, routing, crimping, end milling |
| Glazing | DGU or single, coating and toughening per application |
| Installation | Sub-frame, fixing, sealing, hardware setting and adjustment |
| Handover | Operation check, snagging, O&M and warranty documentation |

## What drives the cost

Opening type and size · thermally broken versus plain profile · glass build-up
(single, DGU, laminated, low-E) · hardware grade and origin · acoustic
performance requirement · finish (anodised versus PVDF powder coat) · floor
height and access.

## Where projects go wrong

- **Mixing system components.** Substituting a gasket or hardware set
invalidates the tested performance of the whole assembly.
- **Specifying good glass in a plain frame.** Paying for high-performance DGU
then bridging the assembly with unbroken aluminium wastes the benefit.
- **Ignoring drainage.** Water sitting in the glazing rebate attacks the DGU
secondary seal and causes early fogging in monsoon conditions.
- **Leaving finish grade unnamed.** "Powder coated" spans products that last
five years and products that last twenty-five. Specify the resin class.

## Why Hagerstone

**In-house fabrication** — approximately 9,000 sq ft facility, 10,000+ sqm per
month capacity, with a production line that includes unitised curtain wall,
doors and windows and curtain walls of all types.

**100% in-house execution**, ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 certified, with 79+
quality checkpoints and sign-off before despatch.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the difference between a system window and a fabricated one?

A system window is an engineered assembly — profile, hardware, gasket, drainage and glass all designed and tested to work together, with published performance. A fabricated window is profiles cut and joined with hardware sourced separately. The difference shows up in water tightness, operating life and whether anyone can state a U-value. We work on engineered systems for exactly this reason.

### Do you supply uPVC as well as aluminium?

Yes. Through our strategic partner Winda Window Systems we supply both engineered aluminium and uPVC window and door systems, manufactured in Ludhiana, Punjab, for residential, commercial and high-rise projects.

### Should I specify thermally broken profiles in a hot Indian climate?

For air-conditioned buildings, yes. An unbroken aluminium frame conducts heat inwards all summer and its inner face runs cold enough in a chilled office to attract condensation in humid weather — which occupants report as a leak. The case is strongest for conditioned commercial space and weakest for naturally ventilated buildings.
